As Brooklyn neighborhoods and rents surge, the number of Brooklyn multifamily owners using the Insurent Lease Guaranty has grown by nearly 50% in the first eight months alone of 2013.
Charles Schoenau, Managing Director of Insurent, commented, “Brooklyn is exploding in a stunning way, and it is reflected in higher rents, huge renter traffic, and the many new developments and more renovations. Insurent is getting deluged with calls from renters, owners, and brokers who need to use Insurent and want it in their Brooklyn buildings. It is understandable as the rents in many Brooklyn neighborhoods equal or exceed the high rents in Manhattan neighborhoods, and it is hard for many domestic and international people to meet the owners’ criteria even though they are well qualified renters in terms of resources to pay the rent.”
“Although we are growing in all boroughs of NYC rapidly, Brooklyn has been overwhelming,” says Schoenau. “In the next three weeks, we are scheduled to meet with many Brooklyn owners who are planning on adopting Insurent for the same reasons that over 1,400 building representing over 225,000 units accept Insurent.”
Insurent is also engaging in
a Brooklyn outreach campaign to seek out and meet with other Brooklyn owners and brokers unaware of the Insurent Program and its benefits to owners, renters and brokers. Insurent will be speaking at the Brooklyn Summit on September 17th, and in the coming weeks will also be meeting privately with numerous owners and brokerage firms.
